What this framework is

This is the operating-system documentation for an AI Adoption Governance function inside a company that wants to put agentic AI into production across multiple departments.

It assumes:

  • The company already runs a business — it has departments, workflows, systems of record (CRM / ERP / HRIS / ticketing / etc.), and an IT/security function of some kind.
  • The intent is agentic AI, not just chatbots — i.e., AI that plans, calls tools, takes actions in real systems, and chains decisions across steps. The governance shape changes when agents can act, not just answer.
  • The team building this is a small central group (often called an AI Center of Excellence / AI CoE), partnered with department champions and a platform/IT team.

It is not:

  • A policy document to be filed and forgotten.
  • A vendor pitch.
  • A replacement for the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, or ISO/IEC 42001 — it complements them, mapping their principles into day-to-day operations.
